Yesterday we were reminded of the absolute importance of praying FIRST! Prayer must be our first response to all things…not our last resort. Today’s prayer reminder is that we must often be PERSISTENT in our praying…to PERSEVERE in faithfully bringing our requests to the Lord until He clearly gives His answer. I encourage you to check out what our Lord teaches on this in Luke’s Gospel, chapter 11, verses 5-10, which concludes with these words:

9 “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. (NLT).”

“Sometimes a failure to persist in prayer proves that we were not serious about our request in the first place. At other times God wants us to persist in prayer in order to strengthen our faith in Him. Faith would never grow if all prayers were answered immediately. Persistent prayer tends to develop deeper gratitude as well. As the joy of a baby’s birth is greater because of the months of anticipation, so is the joy of an answer to prayer after persistent praying. And as much as a generation that measures time in nanoseconds hates to admit its need for it, God crafts Christlike patience in us when He requires persistence in prayer.” ~ Donald S. Whitney

The Lord bless you and keep you…
