By trade, Jesus learned the vocation of His adoptive father, Joseph. He became a skilled carpenter and He was well known for those skills. In fact, in His own hometown of Nazareth, Jesus’ neighbors referred to Him as “the carpenter”…the definite article “the” indicating that He was a “master” carpenter (Mark 6:3). Jesus did amazing work with wood, especially His final work.
Colossians 1:19-20
