Obedience.  We hear, read, and consider that word and it tends to generate a negative reaction.  Like the kids will say to each other when one of them is getting bossy: “You’re not the boss of me!”  We just naturally don’t want anyone else telling us what to do; naturally…being according to our sin nature.  But when we consider the word “obedience” in the context of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, it takes on a whole new perspective…a perspective that comes from within, through the indwelling Holy Spirit, making a radical change in our way of thinking…in our heart attitude about obeying Him, the One who loves us with an everlasting love.

Ezekiel 36:26-27

Thus says the LORD God… 26 “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.

“As followers of Christ, our greatest delight will always be found in our obedience to His Word..” ~ Voddie Baucham
