Fall is just around the corner…harvest time…as the crops mature in the fields.  The corn and the bean plants go from green, to brown.  The ears in the husks and the seeds in the pods go from tender to dry and hard…but that’s when they’re ready for the harvest.  The combines go into the fields and those plants become nothing but chaff blowing away in the wind.  Those plants, once so important, become an afterthought…forgotten.  Isaiah says, “Not so” with God’s Word.  It stands, for eternity! It’s His eternal Word you need.  It’s His eternal Word you can live by.

Isaiah 40:8

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God stands forever.

“The inspiration and authority of the Bible is the bedrock upon which our faith is built. Without it, we are doomed to uncertainty, doubt, and a hopeless groping in the darkness of human speculation.” ~ Sam Storms
