Some people, even some Christians, have a warped and unbiblical view of God…that He is some kind of “almighty ogre,” just waiting to crush us for our every mistake.  While He is a God of holiness and justice, to be sure, He is also a God of love…a love which saturates everything about Him and everything He does, in perfect balance in every way!  And, friend, be assured…God loves you, and He proved it by coming into this sinful world as one of us, yet without sin…to die on a cross…to pay for your sin…to offer you forgiveness, full and free for eternity!  That’s true love!

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

1 John 3:16

We know love by this, that He (Jesus) laid down His life for us.

1 John 4:16-19

16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 19 We love, because He first loved us.
