We live in a very opinionated age.  Many believers in Jesus form opinions according to their own “superior” standards of things, rather than those of God, and the end result reflects a real lack of humility….and a critical spirit toward others.  Then, they begin to share them with others which results in damage to the Body of Christ.  Honestly, it is so hard to stay humble…for all of us.  That’s why God has so much to say about humility and pride in His Word.  Let us consider it…and take heed!

Proverbs 11:2

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

Micah 6:8

He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Romans 12:3

For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

“Not until we have become humble and teachable, standing in awe of God’s holiness and sovereignty… acknowledging our own littleness, distrusting our own thoughts, and willing to have our minds turned upside down, can Divine wisdom become ours.” ~ J.I. Packer
