Another one of the more familiar words that we hear and see at Christmas-time is the word “peace.” The world uses the word “peace” in a myriad of ways. However, the “peace” of Christmas is very specific. The peace of Christmas is the peace that can only come from the eternal, sinless “Prince of peace” Who came as a baby that night in Bethlehem. Jesus came to be our Savior…to bring reconciliation…to make peace between sinful men and a sinless God!

Isaiah 9:6

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Romans 5:1-2, 10-11

1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God…10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

“Hark the herald angels sing, ‘Glory to the new-born king.’ Peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!” ~ Charles Wesley
