“Repent” and “repentance” are seen by many people as very negative words, yet, they really aren’t. Like Richard Blackaby says, “Repentance is one of the most positive words in the Christian vocabulary! It refers to turning from a destructive path and moving instead into God’s abundant life.” When God produces genuine repentance in someone, that person will turn from their sin and turn completely around to Jesus, who died for their sin, to receive His forgiveness and salvation by His grace through faith in Him. That’s the wonderful grace of Jesus! That’s His amazing grace!

2 Corinthians 2:9-10

9 I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us. 10 For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.

“Repentance is the tear of love, dropping from the eye of faith, when it fixes on Christ crucified.” ~ Gorham Abbott
