Just as a baby, born into this world, must grow…grow up into adulthood…so must the one who accepts Christ as Savior.  That person is also considered a baby…what some call “a babe in Christ.”  Every Christian is to grow in Christ, from day one…to become mature in Him, not lacking in anything…and we must continue to grow until the day we leave this place and go to the place which is truly “Home!”

1 Peter 2:2-3

2 Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, 3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.

Hebrews 5:13-14

13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

“Spiritual growth depends on two things: first, a willingness to live according to the Word of God; second, a willingness to take whatever consequences emerge as a result” ~ Sinclair Ferguson
