Of the prayers directed to God, a significant number are requests that have to do with physical healing.  That’s because, as one of His names indicates, our God is Yahweh-Rapha…”Yahweh Who Heals.”  We know that our God can, and does, prevent us from contracting illnesses, and that, He can, and does, heal us from sicknesses, if it is according to His perfect will to do so.  However, His greatest healing is in the realm of our souls, healing us from the terminal “disease” of sin, through His eternal forgiveness, granted to us by His great grace as we place our faith in Jesus alone as God and Savior.

Exodus 15:26

Psalm 103:1-3

1 Bless Yahweh, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy Name. 2 Bless Yahweh, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; 3 Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; 4 Who redeems your life from the pit.
