For those who have diligently attempted to “stay at home” during this pandemic, one of the greatest difficulties has been the feeling of isolation.  This is especially true with regard to extended family members and close friends.  Phone calls can be made, including video chats…but still, we earnestly desire to be face to face, in the same room with each other.  I not only want to see and hear my children and grandchildren, I want to hold them and embrace them…but, for the time being, we wait for those “physical presence” reunions.

Is that true of our relationship with God?  Well…yes, and no.  Yes…right now we are physically distanced from God and we long to be WITH Him…in His presence…at Home in Heaven, but, yet, we are spiritually with Him and He is with us, even now…and always. He is here with me…and there with you…omnipresent! His presence is real and effective…and whatever you’re going through, know this: He cares about you…and He is caring for you.

Psalm 139:7-12

7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. 9 If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,” 12 Even the darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.

Matthew 28:20

Jesus said, “…be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”

1 Peter 5:6-7

6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.
