This particular season of our times has many, many people stressed and, in some ways, feeling very discouraged and defeated.  Not only are there health concerns, for others and for self, there are also the fears of economic failure and collapse as we watch our leaders furiously work toward getting our country, and even the world, back up a running…doing business. But our God specializes in such things in such times as these.  Consider the promise He made millennia ago to an Israeli commander who was about to take his entire nation across a swollen river at flood stage into a land inhabited by formidable foe, in order to take possession of it. God makes the same promise to those of us who trust in Him as well…and history has only continued to confirm it.

Deuteronomy 31:8

“The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

“The story of Christian reformation, revival, and renaissance underscores that the darkest hour is often just before the dawn, so we should always be people of hope and prayer, not gloom and defeatism. God the Holy Spirit can turn the situation around in five minutes.” ~ Os Guinness
