In times like these, we ask a lot of the Lord. We call out to Him and ask for His help, His healing, His provision and His protection from what we fear.  Now, don’t get me wrong…this is exactly what the Bible instructs us to do, but we all need to realize, that our Lord is more than just a “Gimme God.” He’s not just our User-friendly Jesus.  We can’t just impersonally treat Him like the one taking our order at the drive-thru. No! Let’s be careful and not forget Who we’re talking to…the Person to Whom we’re making our earnest supplication. He is Jesus…the One with the Name above all names! He is God, our greatest object of love and devotion…our Lord and Savior, Whom we worship and adore…the Keeper of our eternal relationship.

Jude 1:20-21

20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

“It is easy to want things from the Lord and yet not want the Lord Himself, as though the gift could ever be preferable to the Giver.” ~ Augustine
