We do what is good…not to become saved…for salvation only comes to us by the grace of God through faith in His Son, Christ Jesus. We do what is good…not to stay saved…for our salvation is also eternal in Christ Jesus! We do what is good…because we are saved, and doing what is good is the purpose for which God created us in Christ Jesus!

Ephesians 2:10

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Titus 3:8 (NIV)

This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
