As followers of Jesus Christ, we study the Word of God…and well we should. We talk about what we know from the Word of God…also good. But, are we putting the Word that we know, and of which we speak, into practice in our lives? We not only need to hear the Word…and talk about the Word…but also walk in the Word…to “walk the talk”…to obediently live what we know to be His truth!

Isaiah 29:13

The Lord says: “These people come near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.

James 1:22-25

22 Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it–he will be blessed in what he does.

“Too many of us have a Christian vocabulary rather than a Christian experience. We think we are doing our duty when we’re only talking about it.” ~ Charles F. Banning
