I remember, in the days of my childhood, hearing a song, sung by the choir at the end of every Sunday Worship Service, commonly referred to as “The Benediction.” The lyrics came directly from Numbers 6:24-26 and began with these seven words: The Lord bless you and keep you. What does it mean that the “the Lord keeps us”? It’s talking about our being kept by Him permanently…eternally…in our salvation relationship with Him through faith in His Son, Jesus. In this life, it is possible, even likely, that we will suffer in some way due to the evil in this present world.  But, know this, God will keep us secure in Him and nothing…nothing…will ever separate us from Him. He will keep us!

1 Corinthians 1:8-9

8 He will keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.

Romans 8:38-39

38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
