All too often, we Christians strain, stress, and fret as though we were intended to go it alone through trouble, testing and trial. Sadly, Jesus is, all too often, the untapped Resource available to us. There is no reason to bear your burdens by yourself when He is there to help you bear the load. Like the old hymn says: “I must tell Jesus all of my trials; I cannot bear these burdens alone. In my distress He kindly will help me; He ever loves and cares for His own.”

Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

Matthew 11:28

[Jesus said,] “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”

Since Jesus, Himself, has gone through suffering and testing, He is able to help us when we are being tested.

“Are you in a hurry, flurried, distressed? Look up! See the Man in the Glory! Let the face of Jesus shine upon you—the face of the Lord Jesus Christ. Is He worried, troubled, distressed? There is no wrinkle on His brow, no least shade of anxiety. Yet the affairs are His as much as yours..” ~ Hudson Taylor
