Are you a “giver”…or just a “receiver.”  Which would God have you to be? Obviously, it is not wrong to receive and correctly use God’s provision for us…provision which sometimes comes through fellow believers.  But, God wants to use us on the other side of that equation as well. As we have received, we should also give.

Luke 6:38

[Jesus said,] “Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure -pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”

Acts 20:35

“In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'”

Romans 12:10-13

10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

“If God is my portion, if God is the true source of my joy, and if it is God who will fulfill me, then I am free to be a companion instead of a consumer. That is, because of what I receive from God I can give to another person instead of always taking; I can minister rather than manipulate because of the fulfillment I get from God.” ~ R.D. Phillips

The Lord  bless you and keep you…
