Are you happy?  If so, what is it that makes you happy? A lot of people would say, in a word or two or three…plenty of money.  Not too many years ago, more than a thousand elderly Americans, most in their 80s and 90s, were asked those questions and not a single one said that happiness is accomplished by “working as hard as you can to make money to buy the things you want.” There really is something to be said for the sage wisdom that comes with the years. The Bible agrees with their assessment. True happiness and contentment are found only in a life entrusted to Jesus Christ and invested in faithfully serving Him…including serving Him with the wealth He has entrusted to you.

Luke 12:15

Then Jesus said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”

1 Timothy 6:17-19

17 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. 18 Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.
