When it comes to building physical strength, strain is required. You’ve got to work the various muscle groups you want to strengthen in order to build muscle and increase strength.  The same thing is true concerning our spiritual lives.  God will build our strength through wisely putting things into our lives that will put a loving strain upon us…never too much…always just enough to build our strength, and He will always be there to support us.  We must accept, from Him, the strain to build the strength.

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation, test, or trial has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tested beyond what you are able to bear, but, with the test, will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

“An average view of the Christian life is that it means deliverance from trouble. It is deliverance in trouble, which is very different. If you are a child of God, there certainly will be troubles to meet, but Jesus says do not be surprised when they come. “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world,” there is nothing for you to fear.” ~ Oswald Chambers
