Are you a person who shows mercy and forgiveness to others?  Mercy is defined as: “compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone who deserves punishment or retribution.”  In His “Sermon on the Mount,” Jesus said, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy (Matthew 5:7).”  God faithfully shows us mercy each and every time we seek His cleansing from sin (1 John 1:9).  Jesus, because of His great love and mercy for us, died for our sins to provide for that merciful forgiveness.  So, here’s the question: Who are we to withhold mercy and forgiveness to others who ask it of us.  It only stands to reason…if you’ve received mercy from God, through Jesus, then you should completely understand that you should grant it to others. So…to whom do you need to show mercy and forgiveness…even today?

Ephesians 2;4-7

4 But God, being rich in MERCY, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Micah 6:8

[GOD] has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
