One of the most difficult things for the believer in Jesus is our ongoing struggle with issues of sin.  We know that, in Christ, we have been forgiven of all sin…past, present, and even future. We can, and do, live in obedience to Him…but still, we occasionally commit sins, and we need Jesus to clean up our messes.  Jesus knew what He was getting when He died to save us.  He knew that we wouldn’t be perfect…not yet…not now…but later…when we go to be with Him…in the Father’s House.  Right now…be encouraged…be thankful!  We’re His work in process.  We’re “under construction.”

Ephesians 5:25-27

Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

1 John 1:9, 2:1

If we (believers) confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness…My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
