The book of Genesis records two very significant acts…one very positive and one very negative.  Genesis chapter one records God’s magnificent creation of everything from nothing, with the crowning creative act being the creation of man in His own image and likeness.  Tragically, Genesis chapter 3 records Adam and Eve’s totally devastating choice to sin against God, taking the entire human race into the curse of total depravity.  But, thank God, there was a third supreme act…an act of grace and mercy on God’s part.  Jesus, God, the Son, paid for the sins of the entire human race through His death on the cross and, now, offers anyone who will believe in Him, the opportunity to turn from sin and turn to Him for forgiveness and to receive, as a free gift, His eternal salvation.  If you accept Him, that means that you’ll be His…twice!

Titus 2:13-14

Our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 …gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

1 Peter 1:18-19

Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.

“The work of redemption was accomplished by Christ in His death on the cross and has in view the payment of the price demanded by a holy God for the deliverance of the believer from the bondage and burden of sin. In redemption the sinner is set free from his condemnation and slavery to

sin.” ~ John F. Walvoord

The Lord bless you and keep you….
