Isaiah 32:17

The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.

Confidence is not something that comes from ourselves nor is it something that we place in ourselves.  It is the by-product that comes from God when we live our lives in obedience to His Word.
